Stories have always been with me—not just as moments to remember, but as tools for navigating life.

For a long time, I thought of the things that happened to me as material I might someday turn into stories. Experiences were something to collect, reflect on, and maybe retell later. But over time, something shifted. I realized that every single moment—big or small—holds an opportunity to become a story that connects, teaches, or inspires.

That realization became the foundation for A Story for Everything.

Throughout my life, stories helped me connect with people.  They helped me persuade when logic alone wasn’t enough.  They helped me comfort, lead, and grow.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized that STORIES were the whole thing.  It’s what we’re doing (or should be doing) all the time, in just about every area of our lives.  Or love lives.  Our professional communications.  Our celebrations.

So I wrote a book about the stories that shape us.  All of us.

A Story for Everything is a practical guide to using storytelling in everyday life—whether you’re at work, in school, or navigating personal relationships.

Storytelling isn’t reserved for authors or performers. It’s something we all use, often without realizing it. From writing a persuasive email, to crafting a wedding toast, negotiating a raise, or helping a child fall asleep—stories are everywhere, and they’re powerful.

In my first book, Your Story, Well Told, I focused on the fundamentals—how anyone can create and tell a compelling story. This book takes the next step. It shows how storytelling works in real, lived situations. Through personal anecdotes, practical tools, and insights gathered along the way, I explore how stories influence, inspire, and create connection when it matters most.

Here’s what you’ll find inside:

Part I: Business Stories

Focused on workplace applications—from writing persuasive emails to leading with confidence and clarity.

Part II: School Stories

For students, teachers, and parents, this part covers storytelling tools for essays, proposals, presentations, and even fundraising efforts.

Part III: Family Stories

Covering everything from bedtime stories and meaningful toasts to eulogies and moments of remembrance.

You don’t need to read A Story for Everything cover to cover. You can dip into the sections that speak to you most. Each chapter stands on its own, offering lessons, examples, and activities designed to spark creativity and help you put these tools into practice right away.

My goal is to give you tools, build your confidence, and help you find your own voice. Because when you learn to see life through the lens of story, ordinary moments become meaningful—and meaningful moments become stories worth telling.

Now, let’s begin your storytelling journey. Who knows? Maybe one day, our stories will intersect.

Wouldn’t that be something?
